As Manager Logistics, Protein Sample Management, you will be part of the Antibody Research Materials department. Four closely connected teams focus on fueling Genmab’s discovery pipeline by supplying the base elements for the projects: the research materials. Our challenge is to deliver these at predictable and fast timelines and high user-friendliness. This vacancy is part of the Protein Sample Management (PSM) – Logistics team.
This team is responsible for the storage and internal and external distribution of Genmab’s research antibodies and proteins.
In this position as manager, you will lead the logistics part of the PSM team. This team is responsible for inbound and outbound shipments of biological materials from Genmab’s laboratories in the Netherlands. Genmab has been rapidly expanding in past years and is expected to continue growing in the coming years. Steps need to be made to ensure quality delivery to our stakeholders and be ready for the future. You will be guiding the team in improving the processes to provide a robust and reliable service, with timely delivery of the materials to Genmab’s other sites along with academic and industry partners. With good teamwork and clear communication, you will be part of one of Genmab’s business critical teams, supporting the development of therapeutic knock-your-socks-off antibodies.
Responsibilities
As Manager Logistics, Protein Sample Management, you are the team lead of the logistics team, which is responsible for the external distribution of Genmab’s research antibodies and proteins.
You will be responsible for managing (initially) the daily activities and workload of two Research Associates and help where needed. With your team, you are responsible for external logistics, understanding the need for permits, licenses and other documentation, and changes in regulation associated with them.
You will:
- Lead and motivate the Research Associates in their daily activities.
- Contribute to the optimization and innovation of our team.
- Represent the team and collaborate and connect with relevant stakeholders inside Genmab
- Understand the needs and anticipate future needs of our stakeholders, to proactively be able to offer the service.
- Actively look for new knowledge and ways to increase efficiency and, optimize work processes.
- Communicate with Project Managers, Scientists and other Research Associates about requests and changes therein.
- Together with the Head of PSM, develop medium - long term team strategies for Logistics management.
Requirements
You are a team leader that can easily connect with your team, and you are enthusiastic about organizing and improving processes. You have a service-oriented attitude and can deal with changing priorities and unexpected workloads. You need to be able to look ahead and determine the actions the team needs to take to be prepared for what is coming the next few years.
Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience in pharma/biotech logistics/supply chain
- You bring knowledge from other biotech/pharma in organizing logistics including e-systems
- Previous experience with managing teams
- You are flexible, results- and solution driven, capable of running several tasks parallel to each other and adjusting priorities appropriately with and for the team
- You can motivate your colleagues in getting the best out of themselves
- You have affection for process improvement
- Experience with software in automation and data handling is a plus
- Ability to communicate with and across your team in business level English both oral and written as well as in Dutch
- Other Relevant industry related experience is an advantage
