Do you have at least three years of documented success on-air? Do you wake up every morning eager to get to the station and win? Are you focused on learning, growing, engaging the audience on-air, at live events, and online across multiple social media platforms including unique podcast content? Delivering an entertaining morning show is only part of the gig-can you produce content that our listeners will CRAVE?
CUMULUS MEDIA | KANSAS CITY has seven stations in Kansas City, including: R&B/Hip Hop 107.3 KMJK-FM, Classic Rock 101 The Fox KCFX-FM, Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM, Talk Radio KCMO-AM 710/103.7, Rock Alternative 105.1 The X KCJK-FM, CHR 95.7 The Vibe KCHZ, & 102.5 JACK FM. Combined these seven stations reach more than half of the Kansas City metro population each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce a daily radio show delivering compelling content of appeal to the target demo to deliver successful ratings and grow the radio and digital audience
- Be great with phones/interacting with callers on-air and provide a steady stream of content to our website, social media platforms and your own podcast
- Work with the sales team to develop and enhance client relationships and revenue opportunities through endorsement campaigns
- Work with programming leadership and promotions department to create station-specific content for websites and social media platforms.
- Create digital content creation and manage its distribution across websites and social media platforms
- Assist with station website updates as necessary
- Participate in station Programming, Promotions and Sales meetings as requested
- Host paid & unpaid live broadcasts, remotes and on-site station appearances as assigned
- Commercial production, including creating killer endorsement campaigns including video
- Operate in accordance with FCC regulations and policies
- Operate control board, remote broadcasting and other related studio and production equipment
- Handle emergency news/weather alerts in show
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum three years of successful experience and with documented ratings results preferred
- Creative on-air entertainer that sees the radio studio as their stage
- Exceptional understanding of social and digital “best practices” to engage and interact with the listener
- Savvy computer skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task with the discipline to focus on what is the highest and best use of your time through superior organizational skills
- Enthusiastic work ethic and relentless attention to detail
- Creative thinker and strategic problem-solver
- Can work well with peers in a collaborative team environment.
- Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune with local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air engagement
- Strong production skills
- Well-versed on FCC rules and regulations
